Doors
Doors
A series of photographs
These works were made by first hand printing a real door onto fabric and then taking that print and photographing it in different landscapes. These were very process based works where through various methods I tried to create a portal of sorts into my own memory of home. Through the tactility of printing the door onto what appeared to be an intangible surface (translucent fabric) I wanted to convey the inability to access the place in question. The door was then installed in a landscape around my childhood home and photographed. The photograph acts as another way that I/the viewer is granted access into this place while also simultaneously denied through the limitations of the medium.
